because it shouldn’t hurt to do your job

A Body In Alignment is Absolutely Effortless

We are taught to ignore those whispered messages from our body and to just "push through." We are made to believe that so many aches and pains are because of age — our flexibility, strength, and ability to recover become less — or so the story goes.

What if we learned to listen to those whispers and knew what to do about them? What if we told a different story about age (or your particular job) and our bodies?

What if a body can let go of compensation patterns and be resolved of old injuries? What if we can learn to listen and be taught how to respond?

For the last 20 years, virtually and in person, Marcia has been teaching people how to use their bodies in their environment. Learn how to best care for your mind and body in every situation - no matter what your job or daily obligations entail.

The world’s best in their given professions trust Marcia to teach them on how to operate at an even higher level. Broadway actors. Billboard performers. Top chefs. Award-winning bartenders. Educators. Parents and caregivers. Capital management teams. Attorneys…and more. Every body deserves ease.

The Steps to The ReAlignment Work

1.Unwind Repetitive Patterns

Myofascial release techniques, cranial sacral therapy practices, and protocols that allow the body to rest and reset are the start of the work.

Engagement via Pilates Principles

Yes Pilates. The concepts behind how we strengthen and engage a body via Pilates is applied to life, jobs, and really any movement. Strengthening and learning how to fire up the right muscles to support our alignment and voices means those muscles just show up to do their jobs.

2.Develop Physical Literacy

Learn to listen to and understand your body— this includes tangible practices that change perception. There is certainly a place for imagery in movement and understanding our bodies, but that imagery has to be based on your language, not imagery passed down or attached to a movement modality.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

Using the body's own rhythms and gentle touch, we can calm the central nervous system, send new signals to nerves, muscles, and even our tissue. Add a loss of inflammation, what looks like a non-surgical facelift, vocal resonance, and relief of sinus pressure for all the wins. And yes, you can learn to keep up with your own cranial sacral therapy too!

3. Build Strength within Alignment

We cannot spend enough hours in the gym, the studio, the pool, a class, or in any practitioners's office to combat the strength we build in the unintentional ways we use our bodies in everyday life. Awareness of how you stand while waiting for coffee, brush your teeth, wait for the subway or the next meeting is the start of creating a body capable to operate effortlessly. Next is putting good tension to work and learning to fire the right muscles to support a body and allow it to operate effortlessly — in alignment.
